Why take part in Dry July?
By signing up for a Dry July, you can help us improve the comfort and wellbeing of people affected by cancer.
We help to provide things that may not be front of mind following a cancer diagnosis; getting to and from an appointment, somewhere to stay close to treatment, free Wi-Fi access in treatment areas, and even a comfy chair. We also help reduce patient anxiety by funding free services such as complementary therapies, wellness programs, and wig libraries.
Giving up alcohol for a month is a small sacrifice to make and the good news is – it will benefit you too!
By signing up to the challenge and making even small improvements to your diet and exercise routine, you could expect to experience any of the following:
Clearer head
No more hangovers
Weight loss
Generally feeling healthier
Sense of achievement
Doing something for a good cause
Fresh approach to alcohol consumption
Increased energy levels
Healthier bank balance / save money
Clearer skin
Sleeping better / snoring less
Important Note
Dry July is a fundraising campaign aimed at challenging social drinkers to change their habits for a month and make some healthy lifestyle changes. We would encourage people to drink responsibly and stick to the recommended daily guidelines for the rest of the year. We advise heavy drinkers or people dependent on alcohol to speak with their GP before signing up to Dry July.
